Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time  (연중 제 29 주일 / 전교 주일)

October. 20th, 2019

1st Reading : IS 2:1-5

Reader : A reading from the Book of Isaiah

This is what Isaiah, son of Amoz, saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

In days to come, The mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established as the highest mountain and raised above the hills.

All nations shall stream toward it Many peoples shall come and say:

"Come, let us go up to the LORD’s mountain, to the house of the God of Jacob, That he may instruct us in his ways, and we may walk in his paths."

For from Zion shall go forth instruction, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

He shall judge between the nations, and set terms for many peoples.

They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; One nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again.

House of Jacob, come, let us walk in the light of the LORD

Reader : The word of the Lord.

All : Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm : PS 98:1-6

R : The LORD has made his victory known; has revealed his triumph in the sight of the nations.

Sing a new song to the LORD, for he has done marvelous deeds.

His right hand and holy arm have won the victory. R

The LORD has made his victory known; has revealed his triumph in the sight of the nations.

He has remembered his mercy and faithfulness toward the house of Israel. R

All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.

Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth; break into song; sing praise. R

Sing praise to the LORD with the lyre, with the lyre and melodious song.

With trumpets and the sound of the horn shout with joy to the King, the LORD. R

2nd Reading : ROM 10:9-18

Reader : A reading from the Letter to the Romans

For, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved.

For the scripture says, "No one who believes in him will be put to shame."

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him.

For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed?

And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard?

And how can they hear without someone to preach?

And how can people preach unless they are sent?

As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news"

But not everyone has heeded the good news; for Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed what was heard from us?"

Thus faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.

But I ask, did they not hear?

Certainly they did; for "Their voice has gone forth to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world."

Reader : The word of the Lord.

All : Thanks be to God.

Alleluia : MT 28:19-20

Go and make disciples of all nations, says the Lord.

I am with you always, until the end of the age.

Gospel : MT 28:16-20

Priest : A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew

All : Glory to you, O Lord.

The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.

When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.

Then Jesus approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

Priest : The Gospel of the Lord.

All : Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
